The Attorney General’s Chambers Holds Iftar Food Donation Campaign for Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 16th May 2019 – The holy month of Ramadhan provides a great opportunity to kick-off several worthwhile charitable campaigns. Following this, the Attorney-General Chamber's Outreach committee held an Iftar food donation campaign for worshippers at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque on Thursday, 16th May 2019. The main objective of the campaign was to reach out to Muslim worshippers especially foreign worshippers who have limited means and who are not with their families in Brunei Darussalam. The campaign also provided an opportunity for all AGC officers and staff to step outside their daily work routine and take time to give back to the wider Bruneian community.

The campaign involved food preparation as well as collecting food donations from AGC officers and staff. Several AGC Outreach volunteers consisting of officers and staff helped out to cook and pack more than 50 meals. Mindful of the environment and the impact of plastic waste, the meals were packed in re-used paper bags, and only wooden spoons and forks were provided.

Through charitable campaigns such as these, the AGC Outreach committee hopes to encourage more community outreach in order to remind ourselves to be thankful of our blessings.
