Yang Mulia Puan Hajah Zuraini Binti Haji Sharbawi, Solicitor General, acting as a representative for Yang Berhormat Attorney General, attended the 12th ASEAN Law Ministers Meeting (ALAWMM) 2024, held on 25 January 2024 virtually. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Dr Thida Oo, Union Minister of Legal Affairs and Attorney General of Myanmar. The ASEAN Law Ministers' Meeting is a ministerial meeting to discuss all common matters pertaining to legal cooperation and endorse recommendations and decisions by the ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM), including on the exchange of legal materials, judicial cooperation, legal education and legal matters in support of ASEAN integration initiatives. A Joint Communique was adopted at the end of the 12th ALAWMM which highlights ASEAN's accomplishments, particularly the implementation of its community and integration agenda as reflected in the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, including supporting the ongoing work on the development of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. Prior to the ALAWMM, the 22nd ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM) was held on 23 – 24 January 2024 virtually.
