Brunei Darussalam hosted its first Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) Forum from 27 to 31 July 2026.
The Opening Ceremony was held on 30 July 2026 and was officiated by the Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.
As part of the Opening Ceremony, a technical seminar on "Non-Conviction Based Forfeiture" was held. The seminar featured four distinguished speakers from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), and the National Committee on Enforcement and Detection (NCED), who shared their experiences and insights on the use of non-conviction based forfeiture mechanism in their respective agencies. The session was moderated by Hajah Atiyyah Azzahra Binti POKLSDSLJ Awg Haji Abas from the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) and provided participants with valuable perspectives on the role of non-conviction based forfeiture in strengthening efforts to combat financial crime and recover illicit assets.
