Attorney General's Chambers Holds Mesra Ria Aidilfitri Celebrations

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 08 July 2017 – Although Hari Raya is entering the second week of Syawal, raya mood is still being felt in the Attorney General's Chambers, which had been described by the Honourable Attorney General in her 2016 Legal Year speech as the 'largest legal firm' in Brunei Darussalam. The Attorney General's Chambers today held the annual Mesra Ria Aidilfitri celebrations with the theme "Raya Sederhana in style" at the Dewan Jubli Emas, Law and Courts Building at Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha.

Present as the guest of honour at the event was the Honourable Attorney General, Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh. Also present were the Solicitor General, Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji A.Rasid as well as the officers and staff of the Attorney General's Chambers and their family members.DSC_7701.JPG

The event commenced with a special raya message by the Honourable Attorney General. In her message, Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati thanked the Chambers for their teamwork in making the event a success and despite the economic downturn, Yang Berhormat Attorney General expressed her sincere appreciation to all officers and staff for their understanding and reminded them never to compromise on their obligations to discharge their duties with full commitment, integrity, perseverance and professionalism.

At the event, a number of "Pondok Style" stalls were set up serving an array of mouthwatering dishes ranging from Nasi Briyani to pastas, desserts and drinks etc. The highlight of the event was the "Best Pondok" stall competition.

The annual 'Mesra Ria Aidilfitri' is held to forge closer ties and enhance goodwill between the officers and staff of the Attorney General's Chambers as well as their family members.

This year's event was spearheaded by the Legislation Drafting and Research Division of the Attorney General's Chambers with the assistance and cooperation of the other Divisions.
