Mission

  • To Deliver Excellent and Reliable Registry Services for Powers of Attorney and Marriages
  • To Deliver Strategic Corporate Communications That Build Trust and Strengthen Stakeholder Relationships

    The Communications and Strategy Division provides advisory support on general legal matters, research for legal policy and corporate communications. Its responsibilities include monitoring the implementation and performance of the Attorney General’s Chambers Strategic Plan, managing official communications, and dissemination of information through the Attorney General’s Chambers website and social media platforms.

    Other portfolios of the Division include the following:

      • Deputy Registrars exercise powers and responsibilities under the Powers of Attorney Act (Chapter 13) and Registration of Marriages Act (Chapter 124);
      • Oversees the Translation Unit responsible for translating legislation and other legal documents;
      • Represents the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan in the Juvenile Courts for child protection applications under the Children and Young Persons Act (Chapter 219).
